My Torah portion sh' lach l'cha (Numbers 15:37-41) teaches us to be courageous about life. We
learn from the story of how the Jewish people wandered in the desert and then came upon the
land of Canaan. Moses asked for one representative from each of the twelve tribes to go and scout out the land.

When the scouts returned, Moses asked them, "So what did you see?" Ten of the scouts said, "The people that live in this land are giants! Even
the vegetables are giants. They are
big, that through their eyes, we look like tiny grasshoppers."

Then Caleb and Joshua stepped forward and said, "No, no, no, we didn’t see that! We saw something different! We saw a blessed land flowing with milk and honey. The Caanites are not giants. The other scouts were just scared
so the Caanites looked huge.”

Caleb and Joshua told Moses, "This is the Promised Land."

We learn from this Torah portion that even though we have obstacles, we can still live a successful life. We learn that when we have fear that we can't recognize all the opportunities we have before us. When we are afraid we refuse to try things and we think that other people think we are small.

I want to share with all of you today. Don't see yourself through other people's views. Don't give in to fear, but just keep on keeping on.

Be brave and let yourself see that life is a blessed land.
